Cosmetic surgery lecture: Prabin Mishra, MD, Ph.D., will present “Know You Cosmetic Options,” 2:30-4:30 p.m. May 5 at Kantor Eye Associates, 2111 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota. Healthy Start meeting: Healthy Start General Membership meeting is 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. May 3 at Manatee Memorial Hospital Auditorium. The presentation will feature Rosemarie Sledge, PhD, School and Community Project Coordinator, USF – Health on “Taking Action to help Manatee Kids get insured.” Complementary valet parking and lunch provided. Cancer cooking: Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Dietician Corista Williams and Polo Grill and Bar Executive Chef Tommy Klauber present “In the Kitchen with Chef Tommy Klauber and Dietician Corista Williams” noon-1:30 p.m. May 13 at the Cancer Support Community Florida Suncoast, 5481 Communications Parkway, Lakewood Ranch. These specialized cooking demonstrations will be geared toward providing cancer survivors and their caregivers with cooking skills and nutrition knowledge that will empower them to prepare healthy, delicious foods at home. Events at Summerfield: Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of The Azheimer’s Association will host a caregiver series 10 a.m.-noon May 26 at Summerfield Assisted Living, 3409 26th St. W., Bradenton. Look Good/Feel Better: A free program to women in active cancer treatment teaching beauty techniques to help combat appearance related side effects of cancer treatment at Blake Medical Center, Medical Arts Building Cancer Resource Center, Suite 3400, Bradenton.
