SIRIM HELPING SABAH BUMIPUTRAS DEVELOP COSMETIC PRODUCTS

SANDAKAN, June 21 (Bernama) -- The Standards and Industrial Research

Institute of Malaysia Berhad is helping five Bumiputera entrepreneurs in Sabah

to develop cosmetic products from natural resources.

SIRIM Berhad Sabah general manager Khairon Untoh said today that the

products were made from natural resources easily available in the state such as

honey, hill rice, seaweed, cinnamon and ginger.

The rice-based cosmetic products were already in market while the others

were in the packaging stage, he told reporters after launching an introductory

biocosmetic and natural products programme.

Khairon said that SIRIM had a programme to help Bumiputeras venture into the

cosmetic products industry.
