Cosmetic surgery to prevent bullying

LITTLE ROCK, Ark (KTHV) -- More and more children and teens are having cosmetic surgery resulting from bullying and teasing by their peers.

One of the common surgeries reports show is pinning back ears of kids who get teased for the size of their ears.

Dr. Michael Spann of Little Rock Plastic Surgery says one of the most common procedures for adolescent boys actually is? a breast reduction. Sometimes he sees adolescent girls who also want or need a reduction because their breast size is causing back problems and pain.

Spann says, "Usually the plastic surgery in children is the people who are trying to fit in. Where as, in adults, they're trying to stand out."
